Crownhill Gives Back Through Charity Golf Tournaments

Golf is an integral part of business, enabling networking and relationship building between corporate decision makers. We have gone beyond using golf just for these reasons, and we have placed emphasis on using it to give back to the communities in which we operate.

Recently Crownhill’s Vice President, Rodney Taylor, was invited to participate in a charity golf tournament held at The Golf Club in Dove Mountain, Arizona hosted by the Packaging Distributors of America (PDA).

The event was held to support and raise funds for Casa de Los Niño’s, //www.casadelosninos.org a local Arizona based charity with a mission to promote child well-being and family stability throughout the Tucson, Arizona community. Through innovative programs of prevention, early intervention and a broad array of support services for children and families at risk of abuse, neglect, and crisis, the Casa de Los Niños charity has done amazing things for the community.

We are happy to say that this golf event successfully raised over $12,000 that will come into good use for the charity to continue their valuable work.

Rodney Taylor showed off not only his philanthropic values but also his golf acumen with his team winning first place overall but the real winners of course, are the local families that can get additional financial support for their needs.

As a member of the Canadian Office Products Association (COPA), a Nonprofit Organization Management Group dedicated to bringing their members the latest essentials for their day-to-day business needs within the Office products business space; Crownhill was also a recent sponsor participant to the 2019 COPA Annual Golf Tournament. The tournament’s purpose was to raise funds for COPA’s annual scholarship program, which aids COPA members and their families by providing scholarships to those who most deserving.

COPA Board Member and Crownhill BD Manager Gord Semple represented Crownhill Packaging at this event. Although weather issues hampered the tournament, spirits were high and the focus transitioned to a charity auction that focused on auctioning off the winning hole awards to raise even more funds for scholarships!

These events have given our employees the chance to both take a break and make a change.  We want to thank all our industry partners who sponsor, participate, and host these charitable events.
