Crownhill Packaging Participates in the Toronto Metropolitan University Career Fair

On March 29th, 2023, Crownhill Packaging participated in the Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) GCM Career Fair, giving us the opportunity to interact with students in the Graphic Communications Management (GCM) program.

Earlier this year, we hosted TMU students from the same program, providing them with practical knowledge of the packaging industry and the product design process. We were happy to have the chance to interact with them again.

The GCM Career Fair provides an excellent opportunity for businesses involved in the printing and packaging industries to connect with talented and ambitious students seeking summer internships or full-time career positions.

We’re always excited for the chance to meet and interact with upcoming talent in areas like graphic design, print production, packaging design, and project management. The event successfully provided a platform for Crownhill and other businesses to discuss opportunities with such promising candidates.

Taking place at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario, the GCM Career Fair was attended by Olivia Pietersen, E-Commerce Business Manager, and Donna Petrucci, Human Resources Manager. Together, they conducted 10-minute internship interviews in the morning and 12-minute graduate interviews in the afternoon.

A list of candidates was provided on the day of the career fair to ensure they had the most accurate and up-to-date information. The short interview format gave Olivia and Donna the chance to meet quite a few potential (and impressive) candidates. With over 60 businesses attending the event, the GCM Career Fair managed to schedule over 1,000 interviews.

Potential interns are typically third-year students who start their placements at the end of April and continue until the end of August. The positions are paid and require the completion of at least 300 working hours. In many cases, employers choose to keep interns on a part-time basis during their final year of studies.

Crownhill Packaging recognizes the importance of investing in the future of the printing and packaging industries. We’re excited to have participated in the GCM Career Fair, building mutually beneficial relationships with incredibly sharp, insightful, and passionate students. They’re clearly invested in driving growth, success, and innovation in our industries.

We’re looking forward to scheduling second interviews soon. If you’re interested in packaging internships at Crownhill Packaging, please visit our Internships page.
