Key Equipment Operator

Key Equipment Operator shall be responsible for executing all the activities within the production and operations department that correlate to creating outputs for sale or internal use utilizing a specific equipment asset of the Company. Key Equipment Operator will be accountable for operating, maintaining, and becoming an expert on said equipment asset with a focus on optimizing output and efficiency. Key Equipment Operator will be allocated a task for each day set out by the Production Supervisor which needs to be executed in the most efficient, high quality, safe, and profitable way to help support the company’s sales and service objectives. Key Equipment Operators must be permanent employees of the company.

Job Duties

  • Execute and carry out the activities directly correlated to the production or processing of goods, e.g. inspectors, fabricators, etc.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to continuously improve production rates
  • Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion and that all documentation pertaining to individual work orders includes all required information to complete the process
  • Become an expert on the functionality and nuances of the assigned equipment asset
  • Conduct daily PM and pre-start activities to mitigate downtime and equipment issues
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on how to optimize the assigned equipment asset and work center to increase output and quality
  • Manage equipment performance and strive to attain and exceed production targets
  • Support supervisors by executing their directions to help the company achieve specific client, task, and internal objectives
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently by adhering to company procedures and SOP’s
  • Read and interpret work orders to determine what tasks/operations need to be completed to meet the day’s output requirements
  • Other tasks as required
  • This role qualifies for a quarterly bonus program tied to work center performance, output, and targets being met/exceeded


  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Production experience preferred
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service orientation

Working Conditions

  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
  • Overtime as required
